Run Away!

Some of you may know that I ended up doing Cooking for Independent Living at High School. I do not like the subject, but I guess it’s been a little useful in showing the proper methods of doing things.

Now the only reason that I mention it is because I made a PacMan themed cake. Now it’s not the exact way that I wanted it, but I still have some pride for it.

I wanted to basically make the base, cut a slice out of it and then put yellow icing on the top. We didn’t have enough time to do it, so I may do it some other time. Cake decoration is actually kind of fun. You can see the whole cake after the break, but the cake got damaged in transport so it’s not as good as it was when it was fresh.

Update: It actually tasted alright. I’ll probably be able to make a better one if I make another cake.

Eco School: Caption Competition

Basically I need to make a slideshow, to be shown in school of the Eco Garden. I have been asked to do captions. Rather than make some terrible ones I thought I’d ask YOU to do some for me. You can either leave a comment and quote the image number here, or make an account and leave a comment on the picture on Flickr. Obviously the latter is preferred but any input whatsoever would be awesome. You can even e-mail me the caption and number if you want.

Sixth Year of High School

In my Sixth and final year of High School I get the joy of 4 subjects, dear to my heart:

  • Advanced Mathematics
  • Higher Tech Studies
  • Information Systems/Advanced Higher Physics (Could swing either way)
  • Cooking for Independant Living

Wait… Cooking for Independant Living? I have to do what now? That’s right Calum A. Gilchrist is spending 6 hours of his week next year learning how to cook for himself. I guess it’s helpful for living on Campus, but it seems like a really stupid and pointless subject to me, I took it because I had to take 4 and there wasn’t really anything else that seemed interesting or beneficial.

Well, hopefully next year you’ll get stories of how I made a Pasta in school and caused a food poisoning epidemic in my family. Most likely I’ll drop it and you’ll never hear of the subject again so you and I will just have to wait and see.
