Portal 2

March 5th, 2010

ValvePortal have recently announced Portal 2, the sequal to the original Portal – a game originally included by valve in the Orange Box.

To describe Portal breifly, it is a short game based on the Source engine (very much like Team Fortress 2 etc) where the objective is to complete various puzzles, with the aid of your Portal Gun. This is a gun that can open two portals (Blue and Orange) so that you can cross large voids, climb large gaps, and many other physical challenges. Portal is also where the phrase “The cake is a lie” came from (just incase anyone did not know where it originated from).

Personally, I am looking forward to Portal 2, as I enjoyed the short, but fun original. I’m also looking forward to having the content in Garrys Mod, a popular Source mod that I have been addicted to of late. Soon I shall hopefully have a website up for my Garrys Mod community, and I shall be making a post about that in the forseeable future.

To briefly conclude, Portal 2 is due for release some time later this year (most likely via Steam), and even although we do not have much information as yet, basing on my oppinion of the original game, I look forward to its apperance for both Garrys Mod content and for the sheer fun of the game itsself.

…And I says to Maybel I says…

December 20th, 2009

I hope everyone has purchased their copy of Killing In The Name – Rage Against The Machine in attempt to beat the X Factor to number 1!

Tux!

Now that homelinen has moved home (if you pardon the little joke), hopefully it’ll be faster to load and so on. As you probably know, I’m now hosting the site for Calum, and some of his other domains. If you would like me to host you a site or something, then please email me on ross@imlach.info or ross@homelinen.org and  I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Since I’m hosting it now, I think I have  the right to do this:

HOSTED BY ROSS IMLACH

I’ll speak to Calum about putting a banner somewhere on the page.. I’d like some credit you know!

Anyways, thats my little post for the time being.

Y’ello people!

I decided to make a post (for once) about me and my life (As it is in its current mess)…

So anyway, today I got a letter from the Arkwright people, saying that I am going for an interview about my scholarship application, which is good news. (If I am successful after the interview, I get some moneyz! But thats not the main thing…) I’ll make a post about the interview once I’ve done it!

Ss some of you know, I’m running my own site now (http://www.lcaservers.tk) for my server hosting “business” – The Lost Servers Of Atlantis – I don’t charge for servers, and I’m not really selling them at the moment, due to hardware restrictions! But apart from that, its good fun!

Thats the most eventful things that are happening for me at the moment, hopefully more to come..?

See you around

Snail Trail

September 15th, 2008

Today I got into my room to behold that a snail had gotten into my room and was living on my window.
This is probably due to the fact that I never open my blinds, (Vampirism) nor have I cleaned my room in a good 2 months. Don’t worry, I will clean it today.

On Saturday -Family Film Night- I watched Harvey. It was a very enjoyable film, it exceeded my expectations entirely.

“Harvey” is about a man called Edward P. Dowd, a very friendly fellow, who wishes to be friends with everyone.
Edward has a very strange quirk, he has a “6ft 3 and a half” Rabbit by the name of Harvey that follows him
around. You never see Harvey, but you know he is there. It is a “feel good” film, and shows that having an imaginary friend doesn’t make you crazy, you can still be a nice and lovable guy. James Stewart (Edward) acted very well, as he
was talking to thin air most of the time, but his expressions and mannerisms were perfect, and made the film all the
more better.

Played Rock Band on Friday at Ross Imlach’s house, it was very enjoyable apart from the breakage of Ross’ camera lens. That put a dent in the evening, but after an hour or so we played “Rage”.

“Rage” is basically a game of tig, although originally the act of “tigging” was performed through biting your opponent.
Obviously that wasn’t a great idea, so “scratching” was developed. So we played some Rage, I never won, and have
never won, but it is still fun to be hidden in the brush at the dead of night, whilst a recently infected comrade sneaks up and “attacks” you.

I have pictures of the evening, but not of Rage, I will upload them to Flickr but I am unsure if I will put them directly onto homelinen. You will be able to find them on my Flickr. (May be lost because I don’t have a Pro Account)

Enjoy your week,

Beautiful introductions

July 25th, 2008

Who are you people?

Do I seriously have to talk to you guys? I mean: look at you! I’m drawing a line across the floor right here! If you do as much as even comprehend thinking about crossing this line then I am OUTTA HERE!

So you’d best be thinkin’ awfully careful about what you’re doing around me!
Moving on…

I am THE fabled Ross J. L. Menzies. Yes, THE Ross J. L. Menzies, star of such classic motion pictures as ‘Le Balle De Fantastique’, ‘The Battle for Peter Jackson’, ‘Great Gropher’, ‘the Tellmore Tales’, ‘Fiore’ and ‘Clone Alone 4.’

And another thing…

What the crap is a “BLOG FEED?”
Yeah, I get that it means blog information is FED to you, but does it REALLY mean that?
If I give you a sack of Dragonfruits and say, “There is a sack of Dragonfruits being handed to you at this very moment in time,” I am not feeding you the delicious sack of Dragonfruits one at a time, but I am delivering to you both the physical Sack of Dragonfruits and the psychological knowledge that the sack of Dragonfruits is currently in your possesion.

If Blog feeds are not called Blog Deliverences in the next 24 hours I am going to sue.
